The Franklin Building, formally know as the YWCA, is an historic structure in downtown Watertown. The building is a 36,000 square foot multi-level building owned by 50 Public Square LLC. 50 Public Square LLC is owned by the Local Development Corporation the City of Watertown. In 2002, Public Square LLC purchased the building. To date, approximately $750,000 has been expended to stabilize the building. The funds were used for a new roof, reconstruction of the East Side exterior wall, asbestos abatement and debris removal.

The Franklin Building is highly visible and an important development site in the City’s downtown. It is on the southwest corner of Public Square.
