Riverview Plaza
Riverview Plaza on Newell Street in Watertown is a prime example of a blighted building brought back to life. With a loan of $375,000.00 provided by the WLDC, and additional funding by DANC and the JCIDA, the four story brick building was completely renovated and restored.
The ground floor of Riverview Plaza is commercial space, while the other 3 floors feature 30 spacious, comfortable, loft-style apartments, some with great views of the Black River. All the apartments have brand new kitchens and baths, modern appliances, as well as high-efficiency heating / cooling units, and Thermo-pane windows. The building has an Otis elevator, laundry room, and is well protected by state-of-the-art fire and security systems.
The Riverview Plaza project plays perfectly in to the city's need for more housing due to the expansion of Fort Drum, and its desire to beautify the areas within the city along the Black River.
